One World One Heart

Toen ik, ergens eind vorig jaar, las over het blog-event One World One Heart, besloot ik onmiddellijk daaraan mee te doen. Het leek me leuk, maar vooral hoopte ik op nieuwe bezoekers, zodat mijn pas gestarte weblog wat meer bekendheid zou krijgen.

En het was een overweldigend succes! Zelfs in mijn stoutste dromen heb ik niet durven denken aan zoveel respons. De eerste dag al kreeg ik meer dan 125 reacties. Na drie weken bleef de teller uiteindelijk stilstaan op ruim 400 berichten. Vanuit de hele wereld schreef men mij: uit de Verenigde Staten, Zuid-Amerika, Australie, Kroatie, Rusland. Ik kreeg zelfs een reactie uit Tuvalu. Ik heb eerst moeten opzoeken waar het lag: een klein eiland in de Stille Zuidzee.

Alle berichten heb ik gelezen en wie een weblog had, heb ik zoveel mogelijk persoonlijk bedankt.

Vrijdagnacht om 00.00 uur werd de inzendtermijn gesloten en kon de trekking beginnen. De drie prijswinnaars heb ik inmiddels een e-mail gestuurd en om hun adres gevraagd. Zodra ik het heb, stuur ik de cadeautjes aan hen op.

Volgend jaar doe ik vast weer mee met One World One Heart!!

Somewehre in the end of last year I read about the One World One Heart event and immediately I decided to participate. Just for fun, but I also hoped to get new visitors to my newly started weblog.

The success was overwhelming! Even beyond my wildest dreams I did not dare to think about so much response. Already the first day I have got more dan 125 reactions. After three weeks the counting stopped at more than 400 comments. I have got messages from all over the world: the United States, various countries in South America, Australia, Croatia, Russia. I even got a reaction form Tuvalu. I had to search it on the map: it is a small island in the Pacific.

I have read all the messages. I tried to thank everyone personnally, although it was not possible to reach all.

Fridaynight at 00.00 hrs. the term to give comments expired and the drawing started. I have sent an e-mail to the three pricewinners and asked them to send me their address. As soon as I have it, I will post the give-aways.

Next year I definitely will be part again of One World One Heart!!!

TMTA: eeuwigheid

Eeuwigheid is deze week het thema bij Think Monday Think ATC. Hoewel ik niet de illusie heb dat mijn knutselarijen eeuwig bewaard zullen blijven, maakte ik toch deze ATC. Want altijd komt er na de winter een nieuwe lente en staan de bomen binnen enige tijd weer vol in het blad.

Eternity is the theme for this week with Think Monday Think ATC. Although I don’t thank my craftwork will last for ever, I made this ATC. As every winter is followed by spring and within some time the trees will have their leaves again.

 Bij Gothic Arches moest iets gemaakt worden dat gecraqueleerd was. Is een gebroken hart dat ook? ik weet het niet, maar ik maakte er dit plaatje van.


Gothic Arches asked us to make something that was crackled. A broken heart, is that crackled? I don’t know, but this is the arch I made of it.

Crazy Amigo: Sneeuwpop

Een wel zeer toepasselijk thema deze week bij Crazy Amigo: maak iets met een sneeuwpop. En dat terwijl de straten en tuinen hier bedekt zijn onder  een flink pak sneeuw.

Maar het is niet alleen mooi en leuk. Voor wie de weg op moet, is het bikkelen. Vandaar deze ATC:

A very relevant theme this week with Crazy Amigo: make something with a snowman. Here in Rotterdam streets and gardens are covered with a thick layer of white and fluffy snow. Very beutiful!

But for those who have to go out in a car, it is no fun. So I made this ATC.

TMTA-Jaar van de tijger

Het is maar te hopen dat de voorspellingen voor 2010 (het jaar van de tijger in de Chinese astrologie) niet echt uitkomen. Want er wordt niet veel goeds voorspeld. Maar ja, de tijger is ook niet zo’n schattig beestje.

Maar als thema bij TMTA leverde het mij wel inspiratie op voor deze twee ATC’s:

2010 is the year of the tiger in Chinese astrology. I do hope all the nasty things which are foreseen won’t come out.

Anyway, a tiger is no little cute cat.

But the theme with TMTA inspired me for these two ATC’s.

Dansend 2010 in!

Bij Sunday Postcard Art was het thema “Met hoge hoed en jacquet”. Ik zocht het in de 30er jaren, waarin er ook crisis was. Dus gebruikte ik als achtergrond de trefwoorden van wat nieuwsberichten en liet het danspaar in een sprookjeswereld dansen. Daarmee sloeg ik 2 vliegen in 1 klap, want dit plaatje past ook in het open thema van Gothic Arches.

Sunday Postcard Art has `with tophat and tail`as their theme for this week. Ik got inspired by the thirties, when the world was in crisis as well. So I used tags from recent newsitems as a background and placed the dancing couple in a dreamworld.

Therewith I put also two egss in one basket, as this card fits also in the open theme of  Gothic Arches.
